Architectural
Design
Our Architects in Peterhead and Aberdeen assist Clients at all stages of their building projects and can co-ordinate all elements of design and construction from feasibility through to completion. We have extensive experience in retail, industrial and public buildings, as well as new houses, extensions and steading conversions. We are frequently employed as Lead Consultants with overall responsibility for co-ordinating the work of other consultants which may include mechanical, electrical, civil and structural engineers, as well as quantity surveyors. |

Civil
Engineering McAdam Design Chartered Engineers are skilled in designing drainage, foundations, heavy plant substructures, access roads and earthworks for industrial, commercial and housing sites. We also carry out percolation tests (for septic tank effluent) and soakaway tests (for surface water drainage). We work with local authorities, Scottish Water and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to provide efficient solutions that meet stringent codes of practice. Our Engineers carry out site investigations and work with specialist geotechnical experts where difficult ground is encountered. Tachometric and level surveys are also undertaken. McAdam Design uses sophisticated and fully maintained computer software to ensure designs are efficient and meet the most recent legislation. We have skilled Engineering Technicians to help prepare CAD drawings in various formats. |

Structural
Engineering McAdam Design is an Approved Body for Certification of Design of Building Structures under the Building Regulations which came into force on 1 May 2005. All designs are checked and certified by our SER Approved Engineers. More information on Structural Design Certification can be obtained from SBSA (Scottish Building Standards Agency). McAdam Design Engineers design steel framed buildings and industrial support structures. Reinforced concrete framed buildings, floors and stairs are frequently designed for large offices or warehouse and workshop facilities. Load bearing masonry and timber structures are also designed for smaller offices and homes. In addition our Engineers carry out structural surveys on properties for prospective purchasers or planning application purposes. |
